Litany for departed
In peace let us pray to the Lord! Lord, have mercy!
For the peace from above and for the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the Lord!
For the forgiveness of the sins of those who have passed away in blessed memory, let us pray to the Lord!
For the unforgettable servants of God (names), for their peace, silence and blessed memory, let us pray to the Lord!
That every voluntary and involuntary transgression may be forgiven them, let us pray to the Lord!
That they may stand uncondemned before the terrible throne of the Lord of glory, let us pray!
That they may be freed from every illness, sorrow and sighing, and may dwell where the light of God's face shines, let us pray to the Lord!
That our Lord God may settle their souls in a bright place, a place of grass, in a place of rest, where all the righteous dwell, let us pray to the Lord!
To be delivered from all sorrow, anger, trouble and need, let us pray to the Lord!
Protect, save, have mercy and preserve us, O God, with Your grace!
Having asked for them the mercy of God, the kingdom of heaven and the forgiveness of sins, let us give ourselves and one another, and our whole life to Christ God! To you, O Lord!
Let us pray to the Lord! Lord, have mercy!
O God of spirits and all flesh, you have trampled down death, crushed the devil and given life to your world. O Lord, grant rest to the souls of your servants N who have fallen asleep, in a place of light, a place of green pasture, and a place of refreshment, where there is no pain, grief or sighing. O God, since you are good and love the human race, pardon every sin committed by them in word or deed or thought, because there is no one who lives and does not sin. You alone are without sin. Your justice is eternal and your word is truth.
For You are the resurrection, the life, and the repose of Your servants who have fallen asleep, Christ our God, and therefore to You we send up glory, with Your beginningless Father and Your all-holy, good, and life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen!

Psaltes normally
Tone 5
1: Blessed are you, O Lord, teach me your statutes. Ps 118
The choir of saints has found the Source of life and the Gate of Paradise. I myself have found the way through repentance. O Saviour, I am the lost sheep, call me back and save me.
2: Blessed are you, O Lord, teach me your statutes. Ps 118
You formed me from nothing in past time and honoured me with your divine image. You returned me to the earth from where I was taken because I disobeyed your commandment. Reform me in your likeness and renew my former beauty.
3: Blessed are you, O Lord, teach me your statutes. Ps 118
I am an image of your ineffable glory although I bear the marks of offences. O Master, take pity on your creature, purify me in your mercy and grant me the fatherland for which I long. Make me once again a citizen of Paradise.
4: Blessed are you, O Lord, teach me your statutes. Ps 118
O God, give rest to your servants and establish them in Paradise where the choirs of the saints and the just shine like stars. Give rest to your sleeping servants and overlook all their offences.
Glory:

Kontakion Tone 8
O Christ, grant rest to the soul of your servant with the saints, where there is no pain, sorrow or sighing, but eternal life.
Prokeimenon, tone 6.
Blessed are those whom You have chosen and accepted, O Lord. Their souls will be settled in a good place.
D: Wisdom.
R: The reading is from the First epistle to the Thessalonians of Ap. Paul.
P: Let us attend.
Epistle (1 Thes 4:13-17):
We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died. For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will by no means precede those who have died. For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call and with the sound of God’s trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord for ever.
Alleluia (Tone 6): Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Verse: Blessed are they whom You have chosen and taken to yourself (Ps 64:5).
Verse: And let their memory be from generation to generation.
Gospel (Jn 5:24-30):
The Lord said to the Jews who had come to him: Truly, truly, I say to you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come under judgement, but has passed from death to life. ‘Very truly, I tell you, the hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself; and he has given him authority to execute judgement, because he is the Son of Man. Do not be astonished at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and will come out — those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. ‘I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge; and my judgement is just, because I seek to do not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
Choir: Glory to You, O Lord, glory to You!
